We are seeking a Systems Engineer specializing in observability and application performance monitoring to join our dynamic team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for building, integrating and troubleshooting cloud infrastructure, administering observability and application performance monitoring tooling used across Rocket and ensuring the stability and efficient operation of these systems. Ideally you’ll have a deep understanding of AWS architecture, Linux operating systems, an automation-first mentality, learn quickly and think creatively with familiar and unfamiliar technologies.
About the Role
You’ll be part of our Systems Intelligence team, helping drive vision and strategy for modernizing observability and alert and incident management leveraged by technology teams at Rocket, as well as managing day-to-day operations.

While AWS infrastructure and Linux OS is a primary focus of this role, you’ll work on a wide variety of tasks and can expect occasional work with Windows OS and on-prem infrastructure.
Core Responsibilities
Collaborate with application teams and other infrastructure engineers to build, maintain, and troubleshoot infrastructure in our private and public clouds using an array of proprietary, open-source, and SaaS technologies.Install, support, and configure systems or applications that improve monitoring coverage across RocketCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure observability and monitoring solutions meet business needsDevelop automation to handle complex and time-consuming workflows and processes.Write documentation and record knowledge of systems that the team supports.Participate in an on-call rotationParticipate in a support rotation to answer help requestsAbout You
Minimum Qualifications
Experience working in Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other cloud providersDeep knowledge of Linux-based operating systemsExperience with observability tooling such as Dynatrace, Splunk, and CriblFirm grasp of Powershell, Bash or another configuration/scripting/programming language like Python, TerraformUnderstanding of computer networking (DHCP, DNS, HTTP, TCP/UDP, IPv4/IPv6, OSI model) and load balancing.Understands client-server architecture with relation to web/app servers, databases, load balancers, and other infrastructure platformsPreferred Qualifications
