The Systems Engineer - Pressurized Lunar Rover will support the JETS II contract in Houston, Texas. \n

RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nDevelop recommendations and plans for application of systems engineering principles (such as NASA NPR 7123) to the pressurized lunar rover project.\nCoordinate technical activities to anticipate and prevent problems, optimize requirements, and design solutions.\nCoordination of development and management of interfaces as well as integrated analyses and margins.\nIdentify technical risks, develop risk mitigation strategies, and determine resource requirements.\nAbility to work with minimum supervision, define individual goals, set priorities & deadlines, identify key stakeholders, clearly communicate requirements and needs.\nParticipate in preparation for various boards and with both domestic and international customers.\nWork with management and leadership on schedules and test definitions that satisfy project and program goals and requirements.\nOther duties as assigned. \n\n

\n\nThis position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer related information. \nRequires a bachelor's degree in engineering.\nMust have 1+ years of recent and related work experience. \nExperience with requirements development, design trades, risk analysis, and system analysis of space hardware.\nExperience with certification of human spaceflight hardware.\nAttention to detail and strong analytical skills.\n\n

DESIRED:\n\nBS degree in engineering or related from an accredited engineering school.\nExperience in space flight systems engineering including the successful delivery of space flight hardware\nWorking knowledge of NASA, JSC, and ISS standard practices and requirements including safety, fault tolerance, and unique disciplines.\nFamiliarity with NASA\/JSC documentation databases and SharePoint sites as well as typical systems engineering products.\nPrior experience working with program-level review boards.\nITAR\/EAR requirements familiarity.\nFamiliarity with systems engineering software tools and programs (Magic Draw, DOORS, or similar).\nAbility to travel internationally.\n\n

WORK LOCATION: \n\nThis position is located onsite. \nThis position offers a 9\/80 schedule, every other Friday off. \nThis position may require some travel.\n\n

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:\n

STANDARD BASTION REQUIREMENTS:\n\nMust have experience with Microsoft Office Suite.\nAll of Bastion's employees must be team players. \nAble to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, with internal and external customers.\nAble to follow company programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals, and objectives.\nMust have a strong work ethic and must be safety culture oriented.\nMust be organized with good time management skills.\nGenerally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.\nWork may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). \nMay require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).\nRegular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.\nAbility to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.\n\n
