Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems organization is seeking a Systems Engineer for 2nd Shift Integration & Test.

This requisition may be filled as a Systems Engineer or a Principal Systems Engineer

This will be an on-site position located in Linthicum, MD.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Integration, troubleshooting, and testing RF sensor systems

Supporting integration environment development and establishment (Labs)

Collaborate with software, firmware, and hardware teams to understand expected unit level and system level behavior to define test cases and define & develop test capabilities that exercise and stress respective software and hardware capabilities.

Collaborate with software, firmware, and hardware subject matter experts to ensure testing is producing expected data points.

Support the development and maintenance of system integration plans and system test plans.

This position is contingent upon contract award, and an active DoD Secret clearance.

Basic Qualifications for a Systems Engineer:

Bachelors degree with 2 years of experience, a Master’s degree with 0 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related technical fields. 4 additional years in lieu of a degree

Active DoD Secret Clearance

Candidate must be a US citizen

Experience with RF lab test equipment: i.e. signal generator, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.

Experience troubleshooting and resolving HW/SW/FW integration problems

Experience coding in MATLAB to support coding, test scripting, data analysis, and signal processing

Knowledge of RF systems and hardware

Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment

Solid verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate internally

Ability to qualify for program access based on customer requirements (SAP/SAR)

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Systems Engineer:

Bachelors degree with 5 years of experience, a Master’s degree with 3 years of experience, or a PhD with 0 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related technical fields. 4 additional years in lieu of a degree

Active DoD Secret Clearance

Candidate must be a US citizen

Experience with RF lab test equipment: i.e. signal generator, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience working on a Special Access Program

Knowledge integrating and testing software written in C, C++

Knowledge of RADAR Systems

Experience developing scripts in python to automate manual processes

Knowledge of firmware and hardware control integration planning and execution

Knowledge of embedded systems design and implementation

Understanding of Systems Engineering concepts, including requirements analysis and verification planning and execution

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  

Salary Range: $85,400.00 - $128,000.00Salary Range 2: $105,400.00 - $158,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
