Systems Engineer - Structured Cabling
**Description** **Compensation For This Role: $70,000 - $85,000 Annually (Depending on Experience)** **General Responsibilities** + Maintain open communication lines with all working relationships + Follow up to ensure items for which the job is accountable are performed + Earn and maintain customer’s trust + Uphold the core values of the organization + Work well with others to accomplish the mission of the organization and of the job **Specific Responsibilities** + Support preconstruction managers with solution selling into prospect account base. + Be Safe - Safety is our number one priority + Follow company and client worksite practices and policies + Review drawings for accuracy and completeness + Review and understand the specifications and maintain compliance + Capability to upload and download documents from document share sites + Follow company direction on preferred selection of vendors and products + Work with vendors to obtain best solution, most competitive price and proper lead-time on materials + Attend site walks and preconstruction meetings as required + Experience in understanding what system components are needed to make up a fully functioning system. + Perform layouts when conceptual budget development and coordination with the electrical team is necessary Perform full take offs, counting devices and equipment, entering information into the estimating system. + Develop Technology Solutions preconstruction and project schedule as part of our proposal response. + May participate in vendor selections, scope leveling subcontractor bids, reviews accuracy and completeness + Attend and participate in turnover & job kickoff meetings, with operations staff as required, to cover all details and expectations of project as they were estimated + Always meet deadlines, sometimes working within a very strict timeframe + Other duties as assigned **Knowledge of:** + Aspects of structured cabling, security, access control, and audio visual installations + CAD, Bluebeam and/or Visio + Constructability and the construction process + Systems construction costs + Systems estimating **Skill in:** + Conceptual estimating (conceiving a project in your mind and all the components of that project) + Acting as a self starter + Working with little supervision + Visualizing the constructability of an estimate + Identifying scope gaps in construction documents + Technical writing (Requests for Proposals) + Customer management + Listening + Speaking intelligently + Estimating resources needed to complete required tasks + Adapting to new and changing requirements, environments, and/or information + Using communication software + Effective written and oral communication sufficient to be able to elicit and communicate information and achieve understanding + Operating a computer + Operate Microsoft office products, including Excel, Outlook and Project + Organizing work to accomplish tasks + Reading and writing + Prioritizing and reprioritizing to meet job needs + Problem solving + Tracking numbers and bits of data relevant to the work assignment **Ability to:** + Adapt to new and changing requirements, environments and/or information + Consistently demonstrate professional demeanor + Retain and access critical information from memory + Conceptually estimate and provide input on demand at design meetings + Conceptualize and visualize the project for constructability means and methods + Think on your feet + Understand when to speak and when not to speak + Be personally detached from ideas (no ego) + See things from multiple perspectives **PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:** + Driving + Sitting + Climbing + Lifting (up to 50 lbs) + Standing + Stooping + Vision acuity (near and far) + Walking REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a minimum of two years of industry experience along with a career path for the individual and growth mindset to develop / mentor / train your replacement as you move in your career within Encore Technology Solutions with a baseline knowledge of various aspects of technology / low voltage systems of audio visual, structured cabling, security video surveillance / access control, and other systems. AVIXA/BICSI or manufacturer certifications are a plus along with Jetbuilt, other estimating software, CAD, Bluebeam and/or Visio experience. High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Degree in a related field and/or attendance or completion in a technology curriculum is program is preferred. A minimum of two years of progressive experience in the technology trade is a plus.
