Job DescriptionGDIT is seeking a Systems Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) Identity & Credential Enterprise Solution & Services (ICEs2) Program. This is a full-time remote position.
HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER SME WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems. Coordinates system development to include design, modeling, security, integration, and formal testing.
Guides the successful completion of engineering programs
Develops advanced solutions to a variety of highly complex engineering problems
Perform advanced systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end
Provides and applies advanced engineering to highly complex infrastructures including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools
Provides and applies advanced engineering skills to highly complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis
Performs continual maintenance and provides advanced solutions for security, backup, and redundancy problems
Prepares and maintains documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects
Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, always on the lookout for new technologies, and works with management to evolve current processes
Performs complex systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, model formulation, computer architecture analysis and design, and digital systems engineering
Invents innovative ways to drive production operational efficiency
Drives scalability and operability of supported systems/infrastructure
Implements, manages, and enhances Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline tools
Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance
May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED – REQUIRED:
Citizenship: US Citizen required
Security Clearance: Possess a current DoD SECRET clearance
Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Certifications: CompTIA Security+ CE
Experience: 15+ years of relevant experience
Technical Skills:
Java 11 & Java 17
Oracle 12 databases
RAPIDS (see detailed skills below)
Enterprise Network design and configuration
Microsoft Visio for systems modeling and architecture diagrams
Skills & Abilities:
Experience with RAPIDS System Interface
Experience with RAPIDS Data Flows
Experience with RAPIDS Business Processes
Experience with RAPIDS data architecture and control tables
Experience with the DMDC Software Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC)
Familiarity with National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800 series, Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) publications, and other policies governing identity data, ID card issuance, and cybersecurity.
Location: Remote, must reside in the continental United States
Work Schedule: 9am-5pm EST. Occasional nights/weekends, when required.
