Systems Engineering Director, Functional Engineering

Description:Lead the Aero Engineering & Technology Systems Engineering Team responsible for strategy, leadership, development, and execution of the Systems Engineering competencies across the enterprise. Overall experience to include: System Design, Technical Management, Configuration Management, Specialty Engineering, Diminishing Manufacturing Sources, and Safety & Airworthiness. Responsible for ensuring consistent tools and metrics across the enterprise.

Lead the Systems Engineering functional team to recruit, hire, develop, and maintain technical expertise needed to support successful program execution. Define standard work to ensure compliance to technical, safety and flight clearance requirements in delivery of products to program and government customers. Manage and report cost, schedule and technical earned value performance for the Systems Engineering team to internal and customer reviews. Ensure availability of resources to programs to manage prime subcontractors, associate contractors and partner companies to deliver Systems Engineering products on budget, on time, and to program requirements.
Responsible for to include but not limited to:
- Model Based Systems engineering
- Developing and maintaining system models using industry standard tool & languages (e.g., SysML, UML)
- Establishing and implementing competency advancement strategy.
- Leading standardization of systems engineering processes, tools and metrics across LM Aero enterprise
- Capturing and managing CRAD, IRAD, IT and NBF funds.
- Developing responsive and affordable new business proposals and execution plans to support all programs.
- Supporting product evolution; technical roadmap development and execution.
Integrate capability requirements among stakeholders, programs and LM Aero functions that span design, development, test, production, and sustainment.

Further Information About This Opportunity
- Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
This position requires a Secret Clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
-Strong understanding of Systems engineering principles & practices and experience and proficiency in one or more MBSE tools e.g. cameo, rhapsody
-Experience with agile development methodologies
-Knowledge of system architect frameworks
- Aircraft engineering experience.
- Experience leading large multi-discipline engineering teams through all aircraft program life cycles.
- Experience engaging and presenting in senior executive level meetings.
Desired Skills:
- 15 years of related aircraft engineering experience.
- Engineering management experience including responsibility for program performance, cost, schedule and quality.
-Experience with data analytics visualization tools
- Experience working multiple platforms.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Experience interfacing with Domestic and International customers.
- Ability to obtain TS and SAPF security clearances.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with experience engaging and presenting in executive level meetings.
- Certification in MBSE or a related field (e.g. INCOSE)
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
