The Opportunity KBR is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineering Manager with an RF/C4 focus to join one of our Defence projects. As the Land 4140 Systems Engineering Manager, you are a leader who works effectively in a complex environment, thinks critically, applies excellent problem-solving skills and manages competing priorities with a focus on mitigating risks. You will demonstrate relevant engineering knowledge of C4 Systems in the land domain to acquire and adopt new technologies in a challenging environment. As an engineering leader, you are highly organised, energetic, able to work with limited guidance, outcome orientated with outstanding communications skills. The successful candidate will be coordinating and completing assigned systems engineering work and contributing to the authoring of the Capability Development Document suite and associated risk reduction activities. They will also need to work closely with commercial resources to ensure alignment of technical artefacts with wider programmatic and commercial intent. This is a permanent, full time opportunity and will be based in Canberra. Interstate applicants are welcome to apply and will be considered on a case-by-case basis. This position will require an active AGSVA NV1 security clearance on commencement and the successful candidate must be willing to upgrade to an NV2. Key Responsibilities + Supporting RFI/RFQ/RFT development by leading technical engineering input, including the drafting of contract DIDs (ENG) and DSDs (ENG); + Leading development of engineering plans (e.g. Test and Evaluation Master Plan, Systems Engineering Management Plan, Safety Management Plan, Configuration Management Plan); + Authoring, reviewing and providing input to update engineering documents; + Supporting development of documents in preparation of Government submissions; + Providing professional engineering advice to support the achievement of Land-worthiness land military equipment and systems, in accordance with the applicable engineering governance frameworks; + Reviewing and progressing engineering changes within the CASG change management tools; + Engaging with stakeholders; organising, holding, and presenting workshops with capability stakeholder representatives to understand stakeholder, user and system requirements; + Engaging with stakeholders; investigating systems engineering concepts, and supporting development of systems specifications and engineering plans in support of the Defence materiel capability lifecycle; and + Organising and assisting with Test and Evaluation and Technical Certification activities; + Supporting FIC integration; and + Reviewing and implementing findings of IAR and Smart Buyer activities; Required Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge + Bachelors or Masters in Engineering (Chartership status will be advantageous) + Minimum 7+ years experience working in complex Defence engineering systems + Understanding of the One Defence Capability System (formerly the Capability Life Cycle), specifically a comprehensive understanding of the acquisition process + Former experience working in a large Defence capital acquisition projects (either within Defence or within industry) + Previous experience and thorough understanding of drafting ASDEFCON templates What we will offer you: + A workplace culture certified as a Great Place To Work + Flexible working + Competitive salary (including annual reviews) + Paid parental leave + Income protection + Corporate rewards + Salary packaging/Novated leasing + Employee stock purchase plans + Flu shots, skin checks, and discounted private health insurance + Career development: Online learning, mentorship, and career pathways Apply today!
