POSITION SUMMARY

The Systems Engineer will possess targeted technology skills in z/OS software lifecycle methodologies across multiple vendor solutions, be adaptable to changing priorities and provide data driven business solutions. Additionally, this engineer will help to oversee and enhance security measures, including advanced security management, audit compliance, and remediation of vulnerabilities as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement custom solutions to meet business needs.

The ideal candidate will:

Maintain and manage multi-vendor z/OS software productsLeverage various z/OS products/utilitiesDevelop and deploy best practice solutions in alignment with business requirementsProvide support for complex technical and operational issues, driving problem resolution through root cause determinationProduce control evidence for various audit inquiriesInteract with vendors to plan and implement z/OS system upgradesWork effectively within Change and Problem Management structuresEngage in the development and execution of continuity and recovery plansParticipate in on-call rotation

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years experience in Large Scale Mainframe computing environments5+ years experience with z/OS software lifecycle management3+ years experience with IBM Systems Automation and Netview deployment and customization3+ years experience with Mainframe Security product deployment and customization

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Strong understanding of database optimization and performance tuningExperience in mentoring and guiding junior engineers, fostering an environment of continuous learning and skill enhancementA strong strategic mindset with the ability to align IT initiatives with business goals, driving value through technologyDeep knowledge of disaster recovery planning, implementation, and testing within IBM environmentsAdvanced skills in security management, including audit journal analysis, compliance with security frameworks, and mitigation of security risksStrong experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, and third-party software integration

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$92,700.00 - $222,480.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
