Key Responsibilities
Assist with development of project designs
Work with Lead Project engineer to understand process & design needs, Development & management of engineering Designs/technical specifications
Assist Lead engineer for project purchasing requirements
Develop Functional and detailed specification for the projects
Lithium Ion Phosphate Battery selection wrt following parameters:-
C-Rate
Sizing for Degradation
Efficiency Calculation including Auxilary Consumption
Battery Rack designing
Certification compliance
HVAC Sizing and Calculation alongwith HVAC ducting design
PCS Invertor Selection wrt following parameters:-
Voltage, Current and Generated power
Battery Charging and Discharging Patterns
Certification compliance
AC and DC Circuit designing including the following parameters:-
Breaker, Fuse, Combiner Box selection
Ground Insulation monitoring scheme
Electrical protection scheme designing for both AC and DC side of BESS
Unit Controller Cabinet designing including the following parameters:-
Unit Controller and IO selection
Communication mode freeze with BMS, PCS, HVAC, FPS etc.
Health Monitoring of the entire BESS
Fire Protection and Suppression system design
Container 20/40ft selection and designing for accommodating all BESS components including certification requirements
BESS Use case designing including the following customs:-
Peak Shaving
Energy Shifting
Micro Grid
Black Start
Volt/Var Compensation
Diesel Fuel Saver
Grid Forming
Ramp Support
Synchronizing and Load Sharing
Demand Control
Other project specific use cases as per applicability
EMS Controller Cabinet designing including the following parameters:-
EMS Controller and IO selection
Communication with 3rd party PV SCADA, Wind Turbine Controller and Grid
SCADA monitoring including the following:-
Database building and integration of 3rd party IEDs over Industry standard protocols like IEC61850, DNP3, IEC870, Modbus etc.
HMI Graphics development specifically for BESS, Solar, Wind monitoring
Remote Cloud Data Reporting and Architecture Designing
Engineering Documentation and Approvals
Independently conduct FAT for Control system
Ensures that required prerequisites (e.g. design inputs, tools, and documentation) are in place prior to commencing work.
Ensures that the engineered solution meets project requirements in terms of functionality, standards, quality, and supporting documentation and implementation process at minimum cost for allocated work assignments.
Shares technical knowledge with project team, supervisor, own discipline and other engineering disciplines
Reports progress and technical problems to LPE / EM
Pro-actively identifies potential quality and efficiency improvements within assigned work.
Active participation in Organization initiatives such as Six Sigma, HOS.
Actively participate in project pre-commissioning, commissioning and SAT for the assigned project.
Platforms & Domain Experience
Battery Energy Storage System Experience > 7 yrs
Lithium-Ion Battery / PCS / HVAC / Fire Protection and Suppression System / Container
RTU / PLC / SCADA System design & detailed Engineering
3rd Party Interface
Design & Engineering including communication protocol IEC61850, DNP3, IEC870, Modbus etc.
Site Supervision and Commissioning experience is must in high voltage, high risk environments
Domain Knowledge – Electrical Domain Skillsets including Renewable Energy requirements
