This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of the department. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties throughout the facility as assigned and or as necessary. Employees at this designation perform skilled installation, repair and troubleshooting work involved with electrical systems. Electrical work may be performed in building automation work involves technical application of electrical principles. Mechanics will have a minimum of a state issued Apprentice license and working on receiving their Journeyman license. They typically work under the direct supervision of a foreman or lead. This position is considered entry to mid-level and will be based in Ft. Meade/Baltimore MD area.

Operates power tools, hand tools and other specialized electrical installation equipment. Cut, thread, bend, assemble and install conduits & other types of electrical conductor enclosures and fittings at constant rate at national standards. Constructs and maintains equipment. Ability to read blueprints, specifications, manufacture equipment diagrams and BAS shop drawings. Troubleshoot basic electrical field issues. Works as part of a team. Support a performance-based culture, both team and individual, to assure continuous improvement and alignment with enterprise vision, mission and objectives. Support employee engagement, training, and development in the key areas of electrical safety, employee safety, product quality, and productivity. Ensure regulatory compliance across a range of federal, state, and local agencies.
