HOW A SYSTEMS SAFETY ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
● Designs and defines system architecture for tailored range safety requirements.
● Conduct system safety evaluation of satellite vehicle program, launch vehicle integration and Operation & Maintenance plans, procedures and safety documentation for compliance with applicable federal, state and range safety requirements.
● Conduct and support facility readiness walk-downs prior to satellite vehicle arrival and hazardous operations.

● Provide safety surveillance/monitoring of all satellite vehicle pre-launch hazardous operations and ensure hazards are properly mitigated.

● Provide technical and programmatic support for any near miss and/or mishap investigation related to satellite vehicle program.
● Support facility modification efforts to identify any potential safety impacts to satellite vehicle programs and associated processing activities.

● Review best practices and recommend ways to apply those practices to range safety requirements.

● Maintain System Safety Risk Management modules in Government provided tools.

● Participates in special projects as required.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
● Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
● Required Experience: 5+ years of related launch system safety experience
● Required Technical Skills: Fire Inspector Certification from an accredited program
● Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI with polygraph
● Location: On Customer Site
● US Citizenship Required
