As a Systems Security Engineer, you will be using your skills and expertise to deploy, operate and maintain our secure operating systems, networks, security monitoring, and tuning. You'll be responsible for the management of our IT security systems and applications, conducting risk and vulnerability assessments, and developing and implementing security controls. You’ll work as part of a motivated team to provide best-in-breed security solutions to meet our demanding customer requirements.The Systems Security Engineer is responsible for deploying, operating, documenting and maintaining secure IT systems. The SSE’s primary focus will be the operations of a newly minted secure development environment as part of a large US Air Force program. The SSE closely collaborates with users, administrators, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure secure systems are effectively implemented, measured, monitored and documented throughout the system lifecycle. The SSE is a vital contributor within SNC’s highly dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Must-haves:
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Security, Network Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems/Computer Engineering (STEM field) or related discipline and at least 1 year of relevant experience
· Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
· Experience with deploying and managing end-user devices (workstations, montors, etc)
· Understanding of the OSI model & connectivity across all layers
· Proficiency with Linux Distributions
· General understanding of implementing NIST Cyber Frameworks on Government owned architectures
· DODD 8140 Qualification (CompTIA Security, CompTIA CySA+, CISAor equivalent)
· Current Secret Clearance
Preferred:
· CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, CISA, CCNA or CASP+ Certification
· Programming Language(s) experience (Ex: Python, C++, BASH etc.)
· System Administration experience with Windows or Linux Operating Systems (CLI, user, file system management, security)
· MCSE or Linux Security Certification
· Current TS/SCI Clearance
Estimated Starting Salary Range: $82,039.23 - $112,803.95. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.SNC offers a generous benefit package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(k) with 150% match up to 6%, life insurance, 3 weeks paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and more.
