As part of an informatics team, is involved in all stages of system development, integration and maintenance of third party computer software systems utilized by a variety of end users at the Karmanos Cancer Institute through communication, analysis, gathering requirements, programming, testing, documentation, implementation and training. **Responsibilities:** + Provides system support for bymaintaining, implementing upgrades, training and problem solving. + Provides support as related toprinters, scanners, etc. as associated to third party computer software. + Works with senior members of staffto support the business and technology needs of end users by providingdata, reports and technical tools within specified deadlines. + Works in a team environment involvedin all stages of system development or integration of third party productsthrough design, build, test and implementation phases. + Consultswith managerial personnel, business analysts, programmer analysts andclients to clarify program intent, identify problems, suggest changes, anddetermine extent of programming and coding required to support end users. + BA/BS in a technical field or healthcare field with at least three years of experience in health care; or equivalent combination of education and work experience. + Familiarity with Microsoft Windows 7 and Unix operating systems preferred. + Familiarity with various programming languages and application development platforms like: Java, Perl, SQL, web, reporting tools, C# .Net Framework, Oracle and Visual Basic preferred. + Familiarity with structured System Development Life-Cycle and healthcare/life sciences a plus. + Results-oriented plus excellent analytical and communication skills. + Able to work independently using initiative and good judgment.
