Systems Technician
Job Title: Systems Specialist

Job Description

As a Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for starting up, commissioning, and re-commissioning customer systems that utilize DDC technology. You will troubleshoot mid-level systems problems, work with subcontractors, and ensure the proper operation of systems. You will also handle turnkey project delivery on small projects, maintain accurate documentation, and perform site-specific training for system operators. Your role will involve total system operation, including the setup of trends, alarms, and reports, and you will work with customer IT personnel to ensure system functionality. Electrician experience is preferred

ResponsibilitiesCommission customer systems utilizing DDC technology.Troubleshoot mid-level systems problems and assist others.Collaborate with subcontractors and other trades for proper system operation.Deliver turnkey projects on small scales (80 or fewer budgeted hours).Handle unitary systems, small AHUs, basic CW/HW systems, and front-end operations.Complete required commissioning documentation and maintain accurate As-Built drawings.Submit paperwork on time, including timesheets, expense reports, and project status reports.Ensure total system operation from controllers to sensors, including software loading, calibration, and testing.Perform static commissioning of software programming.Conduct site-specific training for system operators.Set up operator workstations with associated software.Perform daily job database backups.Assist in project turnover to the Service Department.Communicate with customers at work site visits and keep Project Managers informed of progress.Maintain a daily log of job-related activities.Adhere to safety standards and ensure the safety of employees and subcontractors.Possess computer and networking skills to maintain laptops and mobile devices.Understand the operation and control of mechanical equipment and their control sequences.Essential SkillsExperience in HVAC, electrical systems, and building automation.Proficiency in troubleshooting and field service.Knowledge of BMS, HVAC, and building automation controls.Understanding of TCP/IP and networking.Competence in using electronics and testing equipment such as oscilloscopes.Experience with Siemens, Trane, and Honeywell systems.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in building HVAC with a focus on building automation controls.Field experience with Automated Logic Controls and third-party systems.Familiarity with Automated Logic and Phoenix software, including WebCtrl, SiteBuilder, ViewBuilder, LogicBuilder, and others.Ability to handle multiple challenges and disciplines.Work Environment

The territory for this position includes NY and NJ. Candidates will drive their own vehicles and be reimbursed for travel expenses. They are not required to report to Clifton daily and can travel directly to job sites from home. Reimbursement covers up to 28 miles each way per day. After transitioning to full-time employees, they will receive a company car, EZ pass, and company credit card. Candidates must be able to climb ladders and lift up to 50 lbs. Work hours are typically 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with no on-call shifts in the install group. Opportunities for advancement within the software engineering and design engineering teams are available.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $52.88/hr.
