Table Games Dealer

Compensation: $8.00

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Table Games Floor Supervisor, the Table Games Dealer is responsible for dealing a variety of casino games in strict accordance with the rules of the respective games and the Table Games Department Internal Controls, Policies, and Procedures. The Table Games Dealer also plays an important role in providing highly professional customer service while interacting with Tesuque patrons.

Note: Native American preference will be given.

Duties & Responsibilities: Provides guests with a pleasant gaming experience by greeting in a professional, friendly and courteous manner. Explains and interprets the rules of the games to patrons. Adheres to Table Games policies, procedures and internal controls.  Exchanges currency for gaming chips.  Ensures all wagers are within the minimum and maximum table limits.  Ensures all bets are placed in a proper manner before cards are dealt.  Shuffles and deals cards in an efficient and proper manner.  Handles chips with accuracy and speed.  Displays all hands in a clear and easily readable manner.  Pays winning bets and collects losing bets.  Ensures the security and integrity of the game.  Calls for service or rulings as needed. Verifies and deposits game related paperwork in the drop box.  Passes on game related information to the incoming dealer. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

Experience and Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associates degree (A.A.) in related field preferred. Minimum one (1) year live-game casino dealing experience preferred. Certification from Table Games dealing school preferred. Knowledge and experience dealing of 3 or more casino games (e.g. Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat, any Poker variant). Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Pueblo of Tesuque Gaming License Must be 21 years or older

Physical Requirements: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand and walk for extended periods. The employee occasionally is required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee will be required to talk for extended periods and must be able to hear and understand. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to twenty five (25) pounds.

Work Environment: 

Work is generally performed in a casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke and a high noise level. Due to the nature and scope of this position, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours and irregular shifts will be required.
