Job Description:

We have an opportunity for a seasoned Senior Data Analyst/Tableau Developer to join our team supporting the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB). The right candidate should have experience in Tableau implementation, adoption and best practices. He/she should be capable of leading a team of analysts working in a collaborative agile environment and translating business cases into effective, impactful visualizations.


The NPDB (a program within HHS and HRSA) is chartered to improve the quality of health care in the U.S. by requiring state licensing boards, hospitals and other health care entities, and professional societies to identify healthcare practitioners who engage in adverse or unprofessional behavior; and to restrict the ability of physicians, dentists, and other health care practitioners to move from state to state without disclosure or discovery of their previous medical malpractice payment and adverse action history.

Responsibilities:

Develop Tableau dashboards based on client requirements, involving agile prototyping, and refinements after user acceptance testing sessionsDesign Tableau dashboards UI/UX, and recommend them to the client.Maintain, upgrade, and administer a multi user Tableau Server implementation on an AWS EC2 instanceCreate user-friendly Tableau data sources accessible to business users for web authoringDevelop and support complex analysis, reports and data extractsLead meetings and presentations with technical and non-technical stakeholdersSupport our continuous innovation environment by staying abreast and proposing new AWS technologies, cloud native data management and analysis technologies, and external data sets

Required Skills:

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical fields with at least 3 years of experience in TableauMust have knowledge of business intelligence, data warehousing, relational databases and SQLExperience in evaluating and merging unique data sets to augment and streamline existing processes and deliverablesExperience of developing and implementing data governance policies and supporting infrastructures spanning diverse stakeholders.Experience of developing software using Agile methodologiesExperience using manipulating and presenting data using MS ExcelAbility to obtain a Public Trust

The likely salary range for this position is $97,750 - $132,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
