General Description:\n
Places tack welds in pipe spools to hold together prior to welding\n
Functional Requirements:\n\nWorks under the direction of a Foreman, receives instructions from a Fabricator, places tack welds in pipe spools to hold together prior to welding. Assists Fabricator in production of pipe spools.\nFunctional Requirements:\nRead and sign off on JSA prior to starting shift.\nPass required tackers test (GTAW)\nKnowledge of welding machine\nGather material listed on sketch; prep pipe and fittings with pneumatic grinders for fit-up.\nClean out inside diameter of pipe and fittings with compressed air after fit up.\nFollow instructions given by fabricator.\nAlways maintains a clean and safe work environment.\n\n
Qualification Standards:\n\nPreferably one (1) year of experience in specified skill.\nPre-employment\/post-employment weld qualification tests.\nPost-offer drug\/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.\nTurner Industries Group\/Job site orientation\/Hazard Communication and required tests.\nTurner Industries idoctrination\nJob site orientation\nJob site \"Personal Protective Equipment\" requirements (hearing protection, safety glasses - OSHA approved Z87 if applicable, long sleeve shirt, gloves, steel toe boots, etc.). \nApplicant\/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the workplace.\n\n
Physical Involvement:\n
Employee may be required to do the following: \n\nClimbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level\nMaintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc.\nReaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials\nCoordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment\nLifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and\/or overhead\nCarrying objects, tools equipment, etc.\nStanding; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching\/squatting; crawling\nSeeing with or without correction\nHearing with or without correction\n\n
Mental Involvement:\n
Employee may be required to do the following: \n\nFollowing set procedures and standards\nApplying basic mathematical skills\nPlanning work and selecting proper tools\nComparing and understanding differences in the size, shape and form of pipe spools, figures, and objects\nFollowing oral and\/or written directions\nReading and writing\nAbility to recognize and report safety hazards.\n\n

Work Environment Factors:\n\nLocation: industrial construction sites and\/or fabrication shop\nMobility Barriers to Access Job Site: uneven ground levels; obstructed pathways; work performed at low and\/or high elevations; work performed in confined areas.\nClimatic\/Environmental Conditions at Job Site: predominately outdoor climate; may be exposed to extreme hot or cold weather, excessive humidity, rain, etc.; various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc.; potential exposure to chemical substances.\n\n
