Danfoss is looking for a Tactical Buyer to Execute material planning for purchased components in alignment with the production plan requirements. Utilize MRP to effectively communication schedules and purchase orders to suppliers, follow-up with suppliers daily, manage inventory levels to ensure consistent flow of materials, and provide daily updates to the production planning/master scheduling teams. Job ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
Execute material planning to procure raw materials through a consistent process reducing variation on the supply base. Accountable for inventory performance of set of suppliers/commodities to maintain balance of on time delivery and working capital performance. Utilize MRP to the fullest extent to ensure timely and accurate communication of supplier schedules and/or discrete purchase order releases. Manage the ramp up/ramp down of new productions in conjunction with the APQP process to ensure consistency of delivery and minimization of obsolete inventories. Accountable for monitoring ERP health measures to ensure the consistent use of MRP in managing suppliers and schedules. Work closely with the Hydraulics Americas Central Materials Team to drive continuous improvement and consistency in item master and standard planning processes. Minimize all inbound/outbound premium freight. Complete root cause analysis on all supplier interruptions; develop robust improvement plans to ensure consistency of material flow. Support and work with other departments and/or functions to resolve materials issues. Review and adhere to establish processes. Propose continuous improvement initiatives both internal and external to the function, which drive efficient use of resources. Communicate forecast to suppliers (particularly with long lead time items) to ensure material flow in the supply chain. Follow escalation process to expedite materials and/or any other supply issue according to business needs. Participate and provide support in cost outs and continuous improvement projects. Support all activities related with accounts payable to ensure on time payment to suppliers and avoid accounts "credit hold". Maintain relationships with supplier base to ensure efficient and transparent flow of two-way communication. The ideal candidate possesses these skills.
Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering, or Supply Chain preferred. 3 - 5 years' experience in materials planning/scheduling in the same industry sector. Technical knowledge: Familiar with forecasting tools. APICS CPIM certification qualification or commitment to complete equivalent. Highly advanced analytical and cognitive skills. Experience in MRP, MPS, Min-Max tools. Experience in ERP systems. Bilingual English/Spanish. Proficient in MS Office /Excel, able to develop spreadsheets.Competencies
