Eaton’s IS AER MSD division is currently seeking a Tactical Buyer.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $63749.97 - $93499.96 a year.

What you’ll do:

The primary focus of the Tactical Buyer is to execute buying activities in support of manufacture of all products related to a specific supplier. Responsible for supplier on-time delivery and inventory levels. Responsible for ensuring supplier communication regarding material delivery is in alignment with the business needs; to employ methods to exercise that supplier capability to obtain material consistent with requirements, and to communicate risk internally to Supply Chain (SC) and respective IPT Procurement Lead. 
  
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

•    Procure all materials required to manufacture products. 
•    To determine and maintain levels of inventory to meet organizational metrics. 
•    Negotiate and administer purchase orders in support of production needs. 
•    Anticipate SC and business needs and respond to concerns and conflicts.
•    To work with finance to address any payment issues. 
•    Maintain supplier lead-times in business system
•    To work with the commodity team to ensure that supplier communication and related metrics are in support of the value stream’s needs
•    Maintain performance management KPI’s and board and participate in performance management meetings. 
•    Capable of working independently and reacting quickly to changing priorities.
•    Strong analytical skills to be used to participate in at least two continuous improvement projects per year.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution A minimum of 2 years of purchasing and/or materials management experience, within a manufacturing environment.This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).  All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR.  ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. “Green Card Holder”), Political Asylee or Refugee.Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.Relocation is not provided – candidates must reside within a 75 mile radius of the Eaton Orchard Park, NY facility.

Preferred Qualifications:

A minimum of 2 years of negotiation experience. Skills:

•    Willingness to obtain professional certification (APICS, CPM)
•    Willingness to obtain Lean Manufacturing Training
•    Working knowledge of MRP, purchasing, work in process, and inventory modules of Oracle ERP system
•    Knowledge of products and customer base
•    Working knowledge of Systems and Procedures as it pertains to the materials management function and Purchasing Standard work. 
•    Skills: Personal computing, organizational, analytical, communication, negotiating, leadership, inventory management tools including kanban, LTA’s, AMPA’s, Performance Management, SIOP process
