A Tactical Control System Subject Matter Expert job is available with our client in Manassas, VA.. As a Tactical Control System Subject Matter Expert you will be using your skills and expertise to define, review and analyze system requirements for enhancements/modifications for supportability. 5+ years of experience with AN/BYG-1 combat system is required. To be considered for this role, you will have a Bachelor's or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, or equivalent (4 years job-related experience).with an additional 5+ years of job-related experience OR a Master's degree with 3+ years of job-related experience.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Defining, reviewing and analyzing system requirements for enhancements/modifications for supportability
* Providing input to project/program plans and deliverables
* Lead the review, development and modification of procedures and products for one or more ILS functions
* Analyze current requirements documentation to develop methods and descriptions for validating requirements through test and other means
* Participate in various technical and program meetings on a weekly basis
* Communicate project/program issues to management, as necessary
* Mentor other team members

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* US Citizenship is required
* Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire
* Bachelor's or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, or equivalent (4 years job-related experience).with an additional 5+ years of job-related experience OR a Master's degree with 3+ years of job-related experience
* Navy experience as a Submarine Fire Control Technician (FT) or similar (ST-Sonar Technician, ET- Electronics Technician, or IT- Information System Technician) is required.
* 5+ years of experience with AN/BYG-1 combat system is required
* Subject matter expert (SME) in one discipline/field and developing working knowledge in adjacent disciplines/fields
* Proficient understanding and application of engineering principles, concepts, practices, and standards
* Creative thinking with the ability to multi-task
