Performs duties associated with assisting operators and packaging product throughout the facility.This position is located in Crothersville, IN.
Assists extrusion operator with the packaging of reels and coils and ensures the best cosmetic presentation possible.
Ensures that measurements on reels and coils are accurate as specified.
Wraps reels and coils as necessary with plastic wrap.
Visually assists extrusion operator with quality checks of wire and print.
Checks wire for quality cosmetic and color print.
Removes reels and coils from takeup and halls and palletizes or prepares reels for pickup by material handler.
Prints and places labels on reels and coils as necessary and may assist with the hand packing of product for shipment ensuring the correct use of labels and pallet patterns.
Loads reels into machines for spooling.
Verifies piece counts.
Moves materials by hand, using hoist, overhead crane and or forklift.
Cuts wire when specified footage has been wound and wraps end of wire by hand or using mechanical tools.
Moves finished wire from takeup by rolling reels out of machine for pickup by forklifts.
Maintains cleanliness of work area and observes all company and safety rules.
Update GEMBA boards as required.
Participate in Lean events as well as housekeeping and safety audits as needed.
Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.
Physical requirements
Employees will work in environments that may include exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, noise, humidity.
Personal Protective Equipment is required when performing work, safety toed shoes, hearing protection, gloves, etc.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to walk for long distances.
Ability to climb ladders and work from heights.
