Job Summary
The Team Lead oversees various recruiting processes working closely with Hiring Managers, District Managers, and other Operations employees. They navigate recruiting efforts for and lead a team of recruiters as a "player-coach".
Primary Responsibilities
Provide recruiting support for assigned divisions by partnering with Hiring Managers and related management to develop, evaluate and implement effective strategies and high-quality processes to recruit and attract top talent to Extra Space Storage
Conduct regular 1:1’s with team members to provide feedback, mentorship, and career development support
Lead team meetings to review hiring updates, discuss strategies, and align goals with organizational priorities
Deliver performance evaluations and provide actionable feedback to improve individual and team effectiveness
Act as a point of escalation for challenging hiring scenarios and provide resolution guidance
Develop and deliver training to managers and field recruiting staff on best practices and processes.
Analyze recruiting metrics to ensure an effective and efficient recruitment process
Build monthly division call presentations to be used by field team on division calls
Troubleshoot Paradox issues and partner with Paradox representatives to ensure smooth operation of system
Identify and manage effective recruiting tools such as advertisement practices, online/internet recruiting, and screening
Create and participate in online hiring events and in-person career fairs
Proactively discover areas for improvement to enhance the candidate experience
Ensure that Extra Space Storage remains a great place to work through recruiting efforts, competency modeling, diversity, training, and digitization
Education and/or Experience
2+ years previous experience in recruiting/talent acquisition, preferably in a high-growth environment
Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred
Must possess strong business acumen, with a track record of delivering results in a growth-oriented business environment
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, HRIS, Applicant Tracking Systems, & automated recruiting tools and reporting mechanisms
Excellent project and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
Proactively identify areas for improvement
Full knowledge and understanding of employment law & practices
Excellent verbal & written communication skills
Experience with direct & innovative recruiting methods, including sourcing strategies such as cold calling, leveraging competitive intelligence & resources, networking, data mining internet tools, web sites (including social networking sites)
Demonstrated success in executing on recruiting and employment program strategies, policies & programs; extensive knowledge of direct, indirect, & creative sourcing methods and building passive candidate pools
Experience using metrics to drive results
Prefer candidate with experience working with behavioral based interviewing techniques
Continuous improvement mindset; must remain aware of current thinking in field & look for ways to apply the latest best practices
Ability to influence & interact successfully with all levels of the organization
