Meet the Team
The Leadership Development and Succession team at SAP will spearhead the creation and implementation of an innovative Leadership Development Framework. We are seeking an experienced Assessment Expert to own and oversee the overall talent and leadership assessment strategy to support the identification, development, and selection of critical talent segments and leadership roles.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of assessment methodologies and best practices for leadership development, selection and hiring, and succession management. Preferred candidates will have experience utilizing advanced psychometrics and data analytics to design, implement, and evaluate innovative assessment tools for global programs to ensure outcomes are aligned with organizational goals.
What you'll do
1. Development Assessment Strategy
Support the Global Head of Leadership Development & Succession in the design and implementation of a comprehensive assessment strategy that enhances leadership development programs. Collaborate with stakeholders to define assessment objectives and align methodologies with organizational goals, which includes close collaboration with the Global Head of Talent Discovery, Global Lead of Culture and Change and respective teams.
2. Assessment Framework
Create a framework for measuring leadership capabilities, including behavioral competencies, strategic and transformational skills, emotional intelligence, and predictive models for fit and readiness for future roles. Establish criteria for selecting and adapting assessment tools and methods suitable for varied leadership levels.
3. Assessment Design
Develop and curate innovative and scalable assessment solutions, including psychometric tools, questionnaires for motivations and values, and skill and behavioral surveys such as multi-rater feedback solutions, to ensure they are relevant for critical talent segments and leadership requirements. Oversee the contracting of assessment services to/from third parties, liaising with global purchasing, legal, data privacy, data security teams as needed. Utilize best practices in assessment design to meet global and local regulatory requirements to ensure reliability, validity, and fairness of all assessment instruments.
4. Data Analysis and Insights
Analyze assessment data to derive actionable insights for individual leadership capabilities, fit and readiness, and programmatic leadership development. Create reports and dashboards that communicate findings to executive leaders and People & Culture stakeholders, supporting data-driven decision-making and recommendations for tailored development plans.
5. Collaboration
Act as the senior responsible lead for cross-functional transformation projects to ensure assessment processes and insights support talent management, succession planning, and organizational development. Collaborate with social partners, learning teams and other stakeholders as needed to design and deliver development programs that accelerate the readiness of critical talent segments. Serve as product owner and manage external vendors related to assessment and development (i.e. process enablement of teams supporting technical implementations, succession management or other top talent development initiatives).
What you bring
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or a related field; Master’s degree in I/O Psychology or related field preferred. 7+ years of experience in assessment development and implementation, particularly within a high-tech or fast-paced organization. Proven experience in workforce, talent and leadership development. Proven ability to manage multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously. Strong expertise in psychometric principles, assessment design, and data analytics. Proficiency in using assessment tools and technologies, with experience in data visualization. Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences. Proven ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization and manage stakeholder relationships. Certification in multiple assessment instruments is a plus.
