We are looking for a Human Resources Business Partner – Canada, who is strategic, collaborative, and people-focused to join our Human Resources team, based in our Oakville office in Toronto, Canada. 

 

About the role

As a Talent Partner, you will act as a trusted advisor and strategic HR business partner to the affiliate leadership team of UCB Canada . You will drive talent strategies, enable cultural and organizational initiatives, and support leadership in building high-performing teams to deliver the best outcomes for patients.

 

Who you’ll work with 

You will collaborate closely the leadership team and people managers of our Canadian commercial affiliate. Additionally, you will partner with the HR Operations, Recruiting and Learning & Development colleagues to ensure an integrated and seamless HR approach.

 

What you’ll do 

Partner with leadership to define and implement talent strategies that support business success and enhance team performance.Enable leadership growth through coaching, assessments, and team development initiatives tailored to business needs.Support organizational design and transformation efforts, including change management and workforce planning strategies.Lead staffing of key positions in collaboration with our Recruitment team to ensure alignment with business goals.Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, and career development to foster a strong workplace culture.Ensure compliance with local labor laws and advise leaders on HR risks, best practices, and employee engagement strategies.Contribute to global, regional, and local talent projects, ensuring business alignment and effective execution of HR initiatives.

 

Interested? For this role, we’re looking for the following education, experience, and skills 

A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field, with strong academic achievements.Minimum 5+ years of experience in Human Resources with at least 2 years in a business partnering role Excellent communication, interpersonal, stakeholder management, and influencing skills to build strong relationships across teams.A balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution ensures vision and operational excellence.Experience in talent development, organizational design, change management, and leadership team facilitation.A good understanding of labor laws and employee relations best practices to support HR compliance and policy development.Demonstrates curiosity, learns from experience of success and failure, and proactively shares knowledge with others to affect continuous improvement Inspires, motivates, influences, and coaches others to create value for patients and UCB; creates a culture of accountability that provides space for colleagues to contribute to their full potential
