Job Summary
The Talent Engagement Specialist supports Covenant House New York’s recruitment function and works closely with the Director and SVP of People and Culture to develop and maintain a diverse talent acquisition strategy. This position is responsible for identifying, engaging, interviewing, and hiring employees. The Talent Engagement Specialist will also work closely with the training and development team to onboard new employees.
Duties & Responsibilities
(Responsibilities to include but not limited to the following)
Responsible for recruitment efforts for all exempt and non-exempt personnel from sourcing to onboarding, focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Oversee and manage Applicant Tracking system; create and run various reports to track recruitment efforts (time-to-fill, referral source, etc.).
Use various methods, including social media platforms, networking events, minority recruiting events, and other outreach efforts, to recruit and network with potential candidates and build a quality and diverse candidate pool.
Work with hiring managers to develop and execute recruitment strategies and follow up regularly to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.
Review applications to ensure applicants meet the minimum requirements for the position.
Follow up with hiring managers after the interview to determine whether a placement can be made; review candidate feedback forms to ensure that candidates were assessed for functional expertise and cultural fit.
Work with the Director and SVP of People and Culture to strengthen employer branding across all mediums, focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Recommend new approaches and processes to improve the efficiency of the recruitment process.
Ensure proper onboarding for new hires and that the necessary paperwork is completed promptly and accurately, including but not limited to checking references and credentials and verifying experience and background.
Participate in all required training, supervision, and staff meetings.
Attend training and seminars to stay current on Human Resources laws, legislation, and trends.
Use tact when expressing ideas or opinions and display honest, trustworthy, and ethical behavior when dealing with internal and external customers.
Maintain compliance with applicable equal employment opportunity (EEO) and related employment laws and regulations.
