About the role

Reporting to the Tank Farm Manager, the Tank Farm Operator will be responsible for the daily operations of the truck and railcar loading and unloading at the facility/plant.

Tank Farm Operator duties will include, but aren’t limited to, the following:

Load/Unloading trucks and railcarsSampling tanks, trucks, railcarsTank transfers/decants from truck to truck, truck to tank, railcar to truck, etc.Operate boiler to steam tanks and railcarsUse of overflow equipment / devicesOperate Vapor Combustion UnitGeneral plant upkeep to include custodial dutiesPerforming all tasks in a safe and cautious mannerOther tasks as directed by supervisor

Typical shift:

5 x 8 hour per week Monday - Friday with alternating weekend coverage as required

Skill Requirements:

High school graduate or equivalent preferredPrevious experience working on a Tank Farm preferredStrong work ethic, available as neededMust be fully committed to following PSM, safety procedures, and programsAbility to learn and adapt to changing operating conditions

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to pass physical (requirements to be determined)Be able to: pass the Basic Plus safety class at Houston Area Safety Council, in Englishpass the HAZWOPER training classclimb stairs and/or ladders and pass a Functional Strength Evaluationlift and/or drag 3-inch x 25 foot or larger hosemeet the fall protection requirementsstand and work on your feet for most of your shift (not including breaks)work outside in any weather condition, if given appropriate attirepass a Respirator Fit Test (RFT)/Pulmonary Function Test (PFT)
