Role Purpose
• Support the Tankage Lead in delivering the Tankage program and provide all engineering/technical requirements on tankage overhauls and routine tankage maintenance.
Key Accountabilities/Objectives:
• Support the Tankage Lead in delivering the Tankage program
• Lead and provide all engineering/technical requirements on tankage overhauls and routine maintenance activities.
• Assist Tankage Lead on the running of Tankage department
• Provide inputs into Tankage maintenance budget (~R150,000,000) and cost control.
• Provide technical inputs in the reviewing of recommended repairs on tanks and pressure vessels.
• Provide technical inputs in the reviewing of statutory inspection recommendations on all tankage equipment.
• Be the focal point and take the lead of all departmental PCRs from initiation to closure.
• Maintain zero overdue PSCE, CAIRS, PMs, Stat Inspections, Tankage CIS Actions
• Co-ordinate all tankage overhaul and routine maintenance work in accordance with the Tankage maintenance execution plan for all disciplines; mechanical, civil, electrical & instrumentation, scaffolding, and painting.
• Ensure all Tankage maintenance work is planned, resourced, and managed cost effectively.
• Proactively anticipate threats to the short- & long-term plans and develop associated contingencies.
• Ensure Tankage and all associated equipment have good quality PM’s strategies running in PACER and review on need basis.
• Involvement in creating, maintaining, improving, and ensuring team’s compliance to procedures, unit checks, risk assessments and specifications.
• Ensure all Tankage procedures, work instructions or any other documentation are up to date and loaded on BMS.
• Playing a key role in adhering to health, safety, and environmental procedures, and propose suggestions for improvements, all in accordance with ISO 14001.
• Participate in equipment failure analysis and bad actor identification with a view to improve equipment reliability.
• Be the Learning from Incidents Focal Point for Tankage and ensure that incidents are thoroughly investigated, and learning embedded within the Department
