The Outdoor Markets are hosted on site on Fridays from 12 pm – 4 pm May – October. The Events and Promotions Assistant must be available to work from 11 am – 5 pm on Fridays; Thursdays are also required and may have flexible hours, generally 2 – 8pm.
This is a part-time, 20 hours per week, benefits eligible position.
Required Qualifications:
Associates Degree or High School Diploma/GED and one year of relevant experience;2 years work experience in marketing, sales, retail, catering or events work.Availability to work on Thursdays and Fridays May – October;Availability to work (10) dates specified in Marketing Schedule for off-site events;Passable motor vehicle background check and reliable transportation;Ability to set up E-Z Up tent, lift up to 50#, and be exposed to outdoor conditions (spring, summer, fall).Ability to communicate with management, vendors and client in a professional manner;Demonstrated proficiency in Canva, Instagram and Facebook;Microsoft Office proficiency (especially Excel and PowerPoint);Ability to create graphics and signage using approved logos and registered trademarks.Ability to manage cash collection and revenue recording for events using Excel;Ability to work with the public;Ability to operate or learn to operate cloud-based point-of-sale system remotely;Ability to learn and use Revel Point of Sale and Inventory System;Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position;Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.Preferred Qualifications:

Manage vendors on-site at Todd Hill Outdoor Market according to its rules;Manage retail floor pricing signage with the ability to correct or recreate as needed.Coordination/Operation - 85%
Work with Todd Hill Market Manager and Todd Hill administrator in pre-production of editing, mailing, and tracking returned applications;Attract and communicate with potential vendors to increase outdoor market vendor roster;Create outdoor market environment using physical elements (tables, chairs, umbrellas, signs, banners);Coordinate promotional messaging with NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets for events and products;Record keeping of outreach, event dates on site, revenues, rents collected, and market anomalies;Create ads with graphic files using Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and others and adhering to Taste NY brand and style guidelines as set forth by NYS AGM.Contributes content to bi-monthly blog regarding relevant food, beverage, textile, agri-tourism;Work with store managers to create social media content and messaging on Facebook, Instagram;Coordinate promotions with store operations to change over seasonal displays and create visually interesting displays using creative tools and update signage and shelf-talkers as needed;Assist with promotions of agri-tourism in Dutchess County.Work with vendors to learn about their products and train salesclerks about those products.Attention to detail including proofreading one’s own work for grammatical and mathematic errors;Clear, concise communication with supervisor regarding workflow;Promote local farms, produce, food and products displayed to customers;Maintain a clean and safe market environment.Professional Improvement - 5%
