Tax Division analyzes and supports the activities, operations, reporting obligations and transactions of the firm’s business lines to ensure that tax consequences and reputational risks are evaluated appropriately.
Tax Analytics and Control team sits within Tax Operations and specializes in maintaining the integrity of the firm’s tax compliance. Its functions include accurately and timey handling transaction tax and withholding tax on cash flows on daily basis, documentation, and regulatory filings; analyzing new or additional regulations and then designing process set-ups or reviewing system changes that may impact tax processes; optimizing procedures and building scalability through data analytics and efficient use of technology. In addition, the team provides operational tax support for new business opportunities and emerging jurisdictions explored by different businesses of the firm.
Our work contributes directly to the firm’s success, and the division is ideal for creative and collaborative individuals who have strong ethics and attention to detail.
Your Impact
We are looking for an Analyst to use their skills and experience to join our Tokyo Tax Analytics & Control team. The team oversees APAC tax operational matters with its two primary functions being Japan withholding tax and HK stamp duty.

Being part of the Tax Operations, you will:
Develop expert knowledge in taxation requirements, processes, and systems for a number of transactional based tax proceduresPrepare to gain a comprehensive understanding of multiple business lines across the firm. The role offers broad exposure to many divisions and groups within the firm, including Corporate Tax, Legal, Finance, Technology, Securities Trading and OperationsShowcase your attention to detail by ensuring a holistic review of business requirements and impact assessments on tax processes for new markets, new products, business reorganizations, system changes and new/changed tax regulationsUse your inquisitive mind set to identify control weakness, mitigate risk, and improve current processes, procedures and reports including automation of manual processesAct as a risk manager for the firm through ongoing assessment and awareness of the tax regulatory environment and the firm’s adherence to its tax return and reporting obligationsLeverage your quantitative skills to translate complex rule change to workable business and functional requirementsAdvise the firm’s professionals on the operational tax implications of transactions and of new products in development for the firm and its clientsIndustrialize and automate processes and ensure effective controls are implementedGrow with the team; develop a deeper understanding of complex tax regulations, drive change management initiatives, and partner with our stakeholders to progress the department’s target operating modelBasic Qualifications
