SUMMARY:
This position is primarily responsible for assisting with the preparation of state specific property tax and other indirect tax returns. Responsible for assisting with the preparation of the periodic property tax accrual. Other responsibilities include paying annual property tax bills assisting with property tax audits, performing tax research, providing support for tax bill payments and various other tax related activities. This position is also responsible for creating and maintaining programs, data files, and reports using various database applications and spreadsheet software for internal accounting use within the Tyson functional areas. Responsibilities may include reconciliation of accounts and performing other duties as needed. This position should also be able to research and interpret applicable state statutes and conduct internet research on various governmental web sites.
Requirements:
Education: bachelor’s degree or equivalent with emphasis in accounting. General knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, tax laws and accounting are required.
Experience: 2+ plus years of experience in tax or other relevant areas. Property Tax experience as well as CMI certification is a plus.
Computer Skills: Standard computer skills. Candidate must have ability to work with SAP, Excel, Access, PTMS software, Word, and Outlook. Must have ability to perform technical research using CCH, BNA, RIA, or other tax research tools.
Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills Travel: 1 to 5 domestic trips per year.

Specific Position Requirements: It is preferred for this position to have the ability to multitask, good interpersonal skills. Advanced understanding of technological components associated with property tax automation.
