Tax Administrator

The Tax Administrator will play a crucial role in supporting our tax department by performing various administrative tasks and assisting with client service activities.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, impeccable attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. This role requires a proactive and resourceful individual who can anticipate the needs of tax Partners and managers and effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Process and assemble tax returns, extensions, e-filings, and tax organizers, including tracking filing deadlines. Maintain electronic filing systems to ensure accurate and timely documentation of client records and correspondence – e.g., organize, scan/download tax-related documents; ensure proper archiving. Respond to client inquiries and requests in a professional and timely manner. Provide administrative support to the tax department that improves efficiency and client satisfaction.

Qualifications:

High school education or equivalent required. Associate’s degree a plus. 3+ years of progressive experience working in administrative/tax-related roles preferred. Experience working in a public accounting firm/tax department preferred. Willingness and ability to work in the NYC office 2 days/week and to work extended hours during peak periods. Proven ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills. In-depth knowledge of MS Office applications. Experience with the following software programs a plus – e.g., ProSystem fx, CCH Axcess, iChannel, SafeSend preferred. Experience processing, proofreading and formatting documents. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Demonstrates flexibility in responding to changing circumstances and priorities. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills, including strong time-management abilities. Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to assist colleagues as needed. Capable of taking direction from a variety of individuals including tax partners, managers and other administrative professionals. High degree of professionalism, and ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

The compensation for this position ranges from $65,000 - $70,000. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role, office location as well as the individual’s qualifications, years of experience, skills and certifications.
