Complete special projects as needed and specialize in the international aspects of U.S. federal income taxes.    

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review federal, international and state income tax returns and quarterly estimates.Prepare and review quarterly and annual tax accruals and return-to-accrual true-up computations.Respond to notices and audit inquiries from the IRS and state taxing authorities.Maintain tax depreciation recordsPrepare and record income tax related journal entriesResearch and document issues related to various technical tax and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) topics.

Education

4 Year / Bachelors Degree, Accounting, a related field or the equivalent education and/or experience

Certifications, Licenses, and Designations

Preferred, not required, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation

Experience

2 Years relevant and progressive tax experience with concentration in areas of corporate consolidated returns and state income tax issuesUnderstanding of GAAP tax accounting conceptsExperience using specialized income tax softwareExperience with insurance taxation, a plus

Other

Public accounting tax experience in large firm preferredUnderstanding of GAAP tax accounting concepts preferredExperience using specialized income tax software preferredExperience with insurance taxation preferredPossess and have ability to apply knowledge of tax law and GAAP principles, practices, and proceduresSolid written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacyAdvanced organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyKnowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments related to applicable area of the Company’s business to proactively respond to changing business environmentIntermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
