Position Key Functions

 

General

Prepares tax computation. Ensures compliance with the local statutory requirements such as BIR, PEZA, SEC, PSA, BSP, etc. Ensures compliance as to the regular updates released by government agencies. Supports the monthly closing activities such as accruals on various tax expenses and government remittances. Assists in proper substantiation requirements in Treasury department.

 

Accounting/Finance

Responsible for some general ledger activities such as: Government remittances and Employee benefits Tax Accruals

 

2. Ensures reconciliation of the abovementioned accounts each month between actual schedules and general ledger as well as the monthly lease recon.

3. Notifies AP and Treasury of outflow forecast – tax payments.

4. Responsible for the monthly PHP domain currency translation in preparation to 1702Q computation.

 

Compliance

Responsible for the conservative tax compliance and submissions before deadline. Responsible for BIR eFPS filing and payment as well as the corresponding journal entries and schedule reconciliation per plant (e.g. EWT, WTC, FBT). Responsible for the regular preparation of BIR 2307 and cash receipts monitoring. Responsible for the quarterly SOX testing activities. Responsible for the monthly deadlines and submissions: PEZA EZMPR PSA reports submission (e.g. MISSI) GDC/PwC compensation reports, equivalent taxable benefits in PHP, etc. 

6. Responsible for the quarterly deadlines and submissions:

7. Responsible for the annual requirements and submissions: 

SEC GIS, AFS, AITR and Securities Deposit Requirement; BIR annual reports, Annual ITR, 1604F and 1604C Alphalist of employees, 2316 scanned copies, 1700 of offshore assignees; City Treasurer permits and licenses (e.g. scrap business tax, CTC) PEZA certificates renewal;  TIMTA reports;  PSA and BSP surveys,  Tax Equalization of offshore assignees (coordinate with PwC)

8. Responsible for JVs archiving and bookbinding of used BIR forms.

9. Alerts the management team for possible tax savings/(exposure) and non-compliance.

10. Assists the plant management team in identifying opportunities for tax savings.

11. Coordinates with various departments in data consolidation for external submissions such as BIR, PEZA, PSA, BSP etc.

12. Coordinates regularly with government agencies for special matters (e.g. constant follow-up, queries).

 

Key Competencies

Education- Bachelor of Science- Accountancy.  Must be a Certified Public Accountant. Experience- Must have at least 2 years combined experience in External Audit, Tax, General Accounting and/or Finance

Personal Competencies

Comfortable in accessing BIR websites especially eFPS Updated in government regulations and memorandum (BIR, SEC, PEZA, etc.) Familiar with existing regulations/circulars Possesses human relations (interpersonal) skills Comfortable in external dealings (suppliers, BIR, SEC, PEZA, etc.) Excellent in email correspondence/communication Excellent in MS Excel Proficient in both oral and written communication Has keen analytical skills Knows how to prioritize (simultaneous deadlines) Multi-tasker

 

Skills/Knowledge- Computer literate.  Proficient in the preparation of Government Requirements and Accounting Reports.
