+ Assist with tax audits by gathering data, providing documentation, and responding to inquiries

+ Work with internal teams (e.g., Accounting, Procurement, Sales) to address tax-related issues
+ Monitor changes in tax regulations and recommend adjustments to tax processes as needed
+ Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reports for management
+ Support special projects related to tax planning and process improvements

Job Description: Sales and Use Tax Analyst
The Sales and Use Tax Analyst is responsible for ensuring compliance with state and local sales and use tax laws. This role involves preparing and filing tax returns, maintaining tax records, and conducting detailed tax research. The Sales and Use Tax Analyst will also support audits, analyze transactions for tax implications, and ensure accurate tax reporting and remittance.
Key responsibilities include reviewing sales and purchase transactions, managing exemption certificates, and staying up-to-date on tax regulations to minimize tax liabilities. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience with tax software are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
+ 2+ years of experience in sales and use tax compliance or general tax accounting
+ Strong knowledge of sales and use tax regulations, rules, and filing requirements
+ Experience with tax preparation and filing software (e.g., Vertex, Avalara, or similar)
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and accounting systems
+ Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
+ Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders
+ Experience with tax audits and knowledge of audit procedures is a plus
+ Ability to stay current on tax regulations and implement process improvements
