What is Tax Team responsible for?The Tax team sits within the Legal and Fund Execution team, working closely with various departments to ensure compliance with tax regulations and optimise tax-related processes.
The purpose of this role is to manage and oversee withholding tax documentation and compliance for Alcentra-advised Funds. The Tax Analyst will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, responding to queries, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with tax legislation. As the candidate progresses in their career, the focus will shift towards tax compliance management.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of Tax Analyst? Withholding Tax Management:Maintain accurate and up-to-date withholding tax documentation for Alcentra-advised Funds.
Respond promptly to withholding tax queries from internal and external stakeholders.
Coordinate with local and London-based Alcentra Operations and external loan closing service providers on answering and resolving withholding tax issues.
Monitor and maintain withholding tax reclaim records in conjunction with Alcentra Fund Finance teams and manage the reclaim process with external tax advisers.
Collaborate with tax advisors and other service providers to address withholding tax issues.
Monitor changes in withholding tax legislation and ensure compliance with best practices.
Tax Return Compliance Management:Assist in overseeing the preparation and filing of tax returns by external tax advisers for Alcentra-advised Funds alongside a managed service provider.
Coordinate Alcentra Funds’ corporate and value-added tax payments with Alcentra Fund Finance teams.
Monitor compliance with all relevant tax reporting requirements and deadlines with the managed service provider.
Provide regular updates to Alcentra’s tax director on tax compliance status.
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?2-5 years of experience in a similar role or in financial services.
Demonstrates the ability to manage tasks independently and take initiative.
Competency in French for dealing with Luxembourg tax authorities is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
