Tax Analyst

Major Duties:

Participates in the successful production of tax deliverables for regulated investment companies, unregistered funds, and common/collective funds in compliance with Internal Revenue Code.  Primary deliverables include fiscal and excise tax provisions, financial statement disclosures, subchapter M and excise distribution requirements, book to tax adjustments, and year-end shareholder reporting.Learns to mentor and provide technical guidance to more junior staff based on experience.Assists with the documentation of policies and procedures on various tax items.Assists in the research of new and existing regulatory tax requirements and tax compliance issues.Gains proficiency in the use of custom technology tools to assist with the complex tax analysis and reporting needs.Assists in the coordination of tax functions with outside auditors, Fund Accounting, transfer agents and other operational departments and stakeholders.Assists in the identification of technical and operational problems; understands and recognizes broader impact across the department and company.Guided by policies and departmental plan, impacts the team’s ability to achieve service, quality and timeliness of objectives.Builds relationships and interacts with clients to provide excellent tax services.


Knowledge:

Leadership and organizational skills to help manage and motivate team toward goals that have been set.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Functional and in-depth industry knowledge.Flexible and adaptable to change with ability to prioritize multiple projects.


Experience:

3-5 years of Regulated Investment Company tax experienceDegree in accounting/finance, CPA preferred

Salary Range:

$67,500 - 111,500 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay.
