Job Description

This is a hybrid role in Perrysburg, Ohio. 

The position focuses on tax accounting and reporting for O-I’s global operations. Other responsibilities may include various global tax planning projects and domestic tax accounting and compliance work. 

Responsibilities: 

Global tax accounting including review/preparation of tax provisions for international operations and review of global cash taxes 

Forecasting and budgeting for global effective tax rate and global cash taxes 

Review global ASC 740-10 (formally FIN 48) positions and manage ASC 740-10 software (DMI) 

Review and identify issues in various global quarterly technical calculations 

Coordinate with audit firm (EY) on documentation requests and processes 

Tax technical research - monitor, interpret, and communicate legislative and regulatory changes 

Prepare/Review various technical calculations (APB 23, valuation allowances, non-deductible expenses, etc.) 

Provide support for tax audits 

Provide support for global tax planning projects (E&P studies, valuation data, dividend planning, tax modeling, tax research, etc.) 

Partner with the Tax Planning manager and regions to identify and implement tax planning ideas 

Assist with the implementation of transfer pricing initiatives, projects, policies and procedures 

Analyze processes and prepare technical write-up and support  

Manage multiple assignments and independently communicate with corporate functions, regions and operations to resolve questions or obtain necessary information 

Identify and implement ideas for refined processes, time savers, and cost savings 

Manage interactions with external advisors and co-sourcing teams 

Provide support for the staff on tax systems (i.e. Tagetik, SAP, Excel) 

Prepare/Review various 10K tax footnotes 

Prepare/Review US Book-Tax Sch M’s 

North America compliance (US Consolidated, US International, US States, and Canada) preparation and support 

Prepare/Review various technical calculations (Fixed Assets, 987 G/L, R&D, UNICAP, Mgmt Fees) 

Lead various compliance processes (consolidated return, international prep, or state prep) 

Assist with IDR’s on North America audits including federal, state and local, and Canada 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance 

Some exposure to public accounting tax experience or similar industry experience preferred 

Preference for a CPA 

Ability to work well and communicate effectively within diverse, global teams 

Experience using Tagetik and SAP a plus, but not required 

Strong analytical skills 

Overall experience of 4+ years with exposure to international tax accounting in public accounting or industry 

Additional Information

Salary Range: 

The salary range for this position will be determined by the role level—Associate, Intermediate, or Senior.  $56,450- $105,880. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
