**LOCATION** 1830 Route 130 North Burlington NJ US 08016 **Overview** Burlington Stores, Inc. is seeking a **Tax Analyst II** who will be primarily responsible for the sales & use tax functions and compliance within the organization. Provide research and analysis of the organization’s purchases to determine proper taxability. **A Day in the Life** + Review, research, and analyze all purchases of expenses and fixed assets for the company to determine the proper taxability. Accrue all necessary tax and prepare monthly schedules to be reported to the proper taxing authorities. + Prepare monthly journal entries for the sales & use tax accruals and distributions. Assist in the reconciliation of the use tax general ledger account. Research sales and use tax rules and regulations to determine the proper taxing of all purchases for the company. Perform miscellaneous responsibilities and projects as needed. + Assist with the sales & use tax portion of the various audits. Gather invoices, prepare schedules, and analyze the data for the auditor. **You'll Come With** + Bachelor’s Degree Preferred (business, finance, tax, accounting preferred). + 1-2 plus years of relevant experience. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (X/V Lookups, SUMIFS, Pivot Tables) + Proficiency in Accounting and the department’s Accounting/Financial Systems and tax returns + Tax knowledge, including compliance, research, process, and procedures + Comprehensive analysis, research, and audit skills + Attention to detail and accuracy + Productive time management – manages multiple tasks; organized; on top of time sensitive tasks + Handles communication with vendors professionally. Resolves issues quickly. + Efficiently communicates with management and peers + Solves moderate problems; analyze alternatives + Plans approach to own work + Receives guidance and moderate direction **Scope and Impact** Ensure tax compliance for the organization in the sales & use tax areas. Interact with internal departments across the organization. Externally interact with auditors, vendors and tax agencies. Accuracy and diligence impact the organization’s tax liability.
