Your Role
Gensler is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join the corporate finance team onsite 5 days a week in one of our San Francisco Bay Area offices (San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland) or Los Angeles. In this position, you will be focused on US and International indirect taxes including sales, use, property, and VAT. We are a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative global tax department. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a willingness to learn and detail oriented.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to grow your expertise in indirect taxes and enjoy the added value of collaborating with team members from various countries and cultures. You will work closely daily with business partners in Finance, Treasury, Accounting, Legal, HR, and the Finance Director community from our operational offices around the world. What You Will Do
Prepare sales/use, property, gross receipts tax returns for multiple states on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis.
Prepare Canadian GST/HST filings on monthly/quarterly basis.
Reconcile and propose entries to clear tax accounts related to indirect taxes.
Work with regional accounting teams to forecast and budget for indirect taxes.
Respond to internal/external inquiries about indirect taxes charged to clients by Gensler.
Prepare and file annual business license renewals and maintain library of business license certificates online.
Track and respond to notices from tax authorities and provide support to tax audits.
Research and analyze relevant indirect tax laws relating to Gensler’s business and communicate changes to regional teams.
Assist Tax Director on ad hoc tax projects and business needs.
Your Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration with a concentration in accounting required
Minimum of 5+ years indirect tax experience
Ability to research tax laws and reach conclusions High accuracy and attention to detail
Able to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
Collaborative team player
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel modeling, PowerPoint presentation etc.
Experience with Deltek Vision a plus
**The compensation range in Los Angeles is estimated to be between $95k-110k plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience
** The compensation range in the Bay Area is estimated to be between $115k-125k plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience
