Tax Consultant
Job Description As a Tax Consultant, you will be responsible for managing and reconciling financial transactions, ensuring accurate processing of client refunds, and maintaining effective communication with clients and the IRS. Your day-to-day tasks will include:  Financial Reconciliation: Each Tax Consultant (TC) will manage their own Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) and be responsible for reconciling checks received. This involves pulling cases, starting the reconciliation process, and sending checks to finance for processing and accuracy.  Client Service: You will handle client inquiries, providing updates on refund statuses and resolving any issues that arise. This includes direct communication with clients and acting as a liaison with the IRS.  IRS Coordination: You will work closely with IRS liaisons, monitoring the status of returns and ensuring timely processing. This requires attention to detail and regular follow-ups.  Training and Meetings: Participate in ongoing training sessions and meetings to stay updated on procedures and improve workflow efficiency.  Workload Management: Balance your workload effectively while maintaining a positive and productive work environment. Key Performance Indicators (not fully set in stone, but what they are tracking to create concrete KPIs):  Cases Closed: Track the number of cases closed successfully.  Reconciled Checks: Monitor the amount of reconciled checks and ensure funds are processed without issues.  Attendance: Maintain consistent attendance in the office.  Communication: Ensure timely and effective communication with the IRS, clients and internal partners.  Speed to Close: Focus on the speed of closing cases and processing refunds.
