This position supports our supportive living communities as well as our independent tax credit communities in tax credit compliance oversight with resident files and regulatory as well as investor audits.
Job DescriptionHire, supervise, develop, and train the compliance department team members, including Move-In Coordinators.Support the compliance related responsibilities by working in partnership with the Property Managers of the Senior Suites, as well as regional team members.Responsible for ensuring compliance processes, standards, and training content are developed, updated, and maintained to ensure policy and procedure alignment with federal, state, and company requirements. Work directly with the compliance department and property personnel to ensure properties comply with all regulations and requirements.Assist and review all 8823’s corrections and correspondence.Build and maintain relationships with local and regional offices of various regulatory agencies that have a stake in any asset's performance.Maintain reporting data bases and ensure all reporting is completed in a timely manner.Assist and train the compliance department, as well as Property Manager team for file. reviews to ensure all applicants and residents meet eligibility requirements for multiple states.Ensure accuracy and completeness of all HUD, Tax Credit and other required forms.Maintain training requirements as needed per state and/or funding source.Travel independently to various locations as needed.Train staff on each aspect of their compliance specific state requirements.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications5+ years of experience with compliance regulations for federal multi-family housing programs, such as but not limited to: Fair Housing, HUD, LIHTC, IHDA, City of Chicago, Project Based Section 8, Tenant based Section 8 vouchers.Extensive knowledge of Section 42 and HUD policies and procedures.Section 42 tax credit and HUD certifications preferred.Ability to effectively and professionally interact and communicate with your supervisor, central office employees and property staff.Handles situations in a manner that reflects the organization in a positive light.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsOutstanding attention to detail and ability to multi-taskComputer skills: experience with emphasis on MS Office, Outlook and OnesiteAdditional InformationSenior Lifestyle offers a comprehensive benefits plan to eligible team members including health, dental, vision, retirement benefits, short-term disability, long-term disability, and paid time off.
