Tax Director/Manager - Corporate
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Tax Manager in a corporate setting in Annapolis, Maryland. The successful candidate will take charge of managing corporate and partnership tax compliance processes, preparing tax workpapers, and reviewing tax returns. Additionally, you will be tasked with researching technical tax matters and working closely with various departments to achieve key responsibilities. Responsibilities: • Oversee the corporate and partnership tax compliance process, coordinating with external income tax preparers. • Prepare and review partner tax packages and manage correspondence with partners. • Manage the creation of tax workpapers and review federal, state, and local income tax returns. • Carry out the preparation of the quarterly tax provision and related tax disclosures. • Handle the review of tax returns and taxable income allocations for our portfolio of equity method investments. • Develop current year and long-term taxable income forecast. • Conduct research on technical tax matters to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and prepare memoranda. • Assist with tax-related projects, including state nexus study and Section 382 limitation analysis. • Collaborate with various internal departments and external tax advisors to execute key responsibilities. • Maintain accurate customer credit records and process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently. Requirements • Must hold a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Comprehensive understanding and experience with ASC 740. • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines. • Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity. • Knowledge of current tax laws and regulations. • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
