Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. The Department of Taxation is seeking to fill a vacant Tax Examiner position. This position is for an Excise Tax Examiner in the Carson City Office. Tax Examiners are responsible for assisting taxpayers with registrations, collection of fees and resolving account issues. The incumbent must research files to determine reporting history, reconcile receipts, monies collected and corresponding documents within each category to ensure proper tax collection and distribution to accounts. Special Requirements A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
