Tax/Legal Analyst, Indirect Tax
Summary:The Tax/Legal Analyst is responsible for research, configuration, ongoing maintenance, and testing to ensure that ONESOURCE™ applications and offerings comply with tax rules and laws.   

About the Role

In this opportunity as a Tax/Legal Analyst, you will: 

Research, analyze, interpret, and document tax laws and regulations to enable accurate tax determination and/or compliance

Monitor tax statutes, regulations, legislative activity, court decisions, compliance forms, geographic boundaries, and/or publications continuously to stay informed of changes in laws and regulations

Implement new content and content changes within applications; complete work within prescribed content deadlines

Design and execute test scenarios to ensure content accuracy and functionality

Correspond with tax authorities to obtain content requirements

Research and respond to client inquiries in partnership with Customer Support

About You

You’re a fit for the role of Tax/Legal Analyst, if your background includes:

Bachelor’s Degree in tax, accounting, and/or finance (required)

JD, LLM, MBA, or CPA/Chartered Tax Adviser

Two (2) to Four (4) years of relevant tax experience

Detail-oriented with an aptitude for analysis and problem solving including the ability to interpret, analyze, and organize detailed legal, tax jurisdiction, and/or geographic material

Ability to utilize online research tools and/or data sources (e.g. Checkpoint, Tax Analysts, WestLaw)

Ability to consistently meet rigid and recurring deadlines

Superior written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write white papers on tax and/or geography technical subjects

Superior organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks

Intermediate to advance software skills (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Word, Access)

Ability to work and proactively learn independently with minimal supervision

Written and spoken fluency in English

Desired Skills:

Experience working for a public accounting firm or corporate tax department

Knowledge of Indirect Tax

Experience with tax calculation and compliance software (e.g. ONESOURCE™)

Experience communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Fluency in languages other than English

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The location(s) for this role include one or more of the following metro locations: Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, Washington, DC. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $63,100 - $117,300. The base compensation range in other locations may vary. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
