Tax Manager, International Tax
Description Amazon is hiring for a Tax Planning Manager, based in São Paulo, to focus on supporting our 3P (marketplace), Payments and Prime business lines in a Tax planning advisory role. The successful candidate will engage and partner with those business teams to support current and future offerings, including expansions, restructurings, operating guidelines, and day-to-day questions while also dealing with a dynamic and changing tax environment being introduced by the BR Tax Reform. The candidate must be comfortable directly liaising with various business teams within the company, with an aim of gaining a deep understanding of the business vision and model in order to develop clear tax solutions in support of the business, develop tax requirements that clearly articulate such solutions, and drive the implementation of the tax requirements. Key job responsibilities The ideal candidate will focus on indirect tax matters but will also have a base knowledge of direct tax and transfer pricing issues and how these can impact the business solution being articulated. The candidate will also work with other members of the global tax department to formulate and drive wider indirect taxes strategy, communicate current and future business plans, obtain cross-functional tax subject matter input, and ensure coordination of cross-functional tax solutions. A day in the life This position is not directly involved in day-to-day indirect taxes compliance but is responsible for delivering the advisory planning, real time coordination, and communication of various tax-related projects across regions, including supporting engagements and negotiations with external advisors, government bodies, tax authorities, and auditors. Basic Qualifications - Minimum 8 years of relevant tax experience (e.g., Big 4 Accounting Firm, Law Firm or in-house tax experience), or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. - Advanced English language Preferred Qualifications - Recognized professional tax qualification, chartered accountant or relevant law degree - Detail-oriented individual who takes ownership of projects, is organized, possesses excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and is able to deliver on tight deadlines - Highly motivated, hard-working, and able to work in a fast paced, informal, and often ambiguous environment - Able to clearly and concisely interface with all levels of management - Effective interpersonal skills, including persuasive written and oral communication skills Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
