Description We are in the process of recruiting a Tax Manager, Real Estate, to be an integral part of our team in Boston, Massachusetts. The role involves working in the financial services industry and requires the successful candidate to carry out a range of responsibilities related to tax compliance and reporting. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our team's success.
Responsibilities:
• Facilitate the preparation of fund tax return filings and K-1 reporting in collaboration with external tax advisors and fund accountants
• Support external tax return preparers by reviewing tax return work papers, tax allocations, and tax estimates
• Work with external tax advisors to review quarterly tax projections, US and state tax withholding, and estimated payments
• Assist in managing fund entities that are taxable as REITs, including coordinating external REIT income and asset testing
• Collaborate on complex real estate tax issues and tax strategies with the Head of Fund Tax, Real Estate, and external tax advisors
• Respond to investor requests for tax information in collaboration with the investor relations team
• Work with external advisors and internal administrators to manage federal, state, and local tax notices and audit responses
• Use independent judgement to set priorities and assist with ad-hoc projects and daily tax questions from the business
• Prepare documents, presentations, and meeting materials, including structure charts and spreadsheets
• Maintain, update, and create tax databases and/or database information for real estate. Requirements • Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the financial services industry.
• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat is essential for this role.
• Familiarity and experience with ATX Tax Software are required.
• Experience with CCH ProSystem Fx is a must.
• Proficiency with CCH Sales Tax software is needed.
• Knowledge and experience with compliance software are crucial.
• Candidates should have experience with accounting functions.
• Experience with annual income tax provision is necessary.
• Auditing skills are required for this role.
• Compliance experience is necessary.
• Strong documentation skills are essential.
