You will manage Direct Tax Compliance teams and/or processes on income tax
compliance, projections and forecasting. You will assist with audit defense, support accounting for income tax requirements for the U.S. and assist in tax planning projects.
How you will contribute
You will:
Manage and be responsible for the day-to-day Direct Tax Compliance teams and/or processes in the preparation of direct tax returns, filings, accounting for income taxes, and related matters for the U.S. to ensure timeliness and accuracy in compliance with tax laws and U.S. GAAP requirements. You will also help manage tax audits including responding to information requests and recommending changes to reserves for current and potential issues.
Ensure that direct tax compliance requirements for the U.S. are timely and accurately met and that tax policies are followed including compliance with internal standards on completion dates, record retention and workpaper support.
Monitor tax legislative events, tax audits, tax-planning and business initiative developments. You will also provide management with ongoing income tax guidance and support.
Develop and continually improve direct tax compliance processes and ways of working.
Contribute to a high performing Tax team in the U.S. You will also develop talent across Tax and drive our Tax talent agenda in the U.S.

Additional Responsibilities:
Tax compliance:
Partner with external service provider in preparing and reviewing US international tax filings, including Forms 5471/8858/8865/89XX/1118 and elections & statements
Responsible for GILTI/Subpart-F and foreign tax credit computations for tax return and provision/forecast
Responsible for aligning compliance timeline and delivering against the timeline
Identify and implement process improvements
IRS audit:
Responsible for coordinating international IDR responses
Prepare/secure documentation for transactions and tax positions taken
Assist in developing audit defense strategy
Tax planning:
Model computations for tax planning opportunities and legislative proposals
Review tax attributes and assess impact of repatriation and restructuring proposals
Perform research and write memos to support tax positions
Monitor legislative developments and advise on risks/opportunities
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required
Advanced degree in Accounting or Taxation preferred
CPA preferred
6 or more years US international tax experience
3 or more years of experience with Big 4 Accounting Firm or comparable experience within industry
Strong knowledge of direct tax laws and regulations
Experience in tax planning and compliance
Advanced Excel capabilities required with the ability to model out tax implications using excel-based software
Deep understanding of US international concepts including Subpart F, GILTI and foreign tax credit
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills required
Ability to multi-task and prioritize in complex situations with tight deadlines
Ability to challenge tax colleagues on technical matters and support positions taken based on tax knowledge
