Responsibilities:
Lead and manage tax compliance engagements in accordance with firm and professional standards, within budget and deadline expectationsPlan and schedule tax engagements with clients and firm resourcesServe as the main tax point of contact within our firm for clientsTax Manager is responsible for clients receiving proactive communication and timely servicePerform detailed reviews of tax work papers and provision calculations completed by other associatesReview tax returns, tax research, tax communications, and other requested deliverablesCommunicate proactively with clients and engagement partners regarding project status, client service opportunities, and other significant matters in a timely mannerProvide training, direction, and supervision to staff and senior accountantsParticipate in and provide leadership for firm initiatives and projectsMaintain technical expertise in various tax areas related to industry specializationQualifications:
Requires a Bachelors Degree in Accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experienceCPA certification required in the respective state in which they are practicingMinumum 5 years of public accounting experience in taxPrior supervisory experience requiredAbility to plan, prioritize, and organize work effectively
Ability to balance many projects simultaneously
Ability to work under pressure and time deadlines
Ability to analyze data and recommend solutions
Ability to become technically competent with industry-specific tax and accounting matters
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, Caseware, depreciation processing software, tax preparation software (ProSystems), tax research software (RIA), and IDEA (data extraction software)
Wipfli supports Equal Pay for all. In addition, in the State of Montana, we are committed to Equal Pay for Women in accordance with Executive Order 12-2016. The pay range for this role is $80,000-$110,000.
