Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Assists with the Company’s tax compliance, tax planning, accounting for income taxes, and managing correspondence with tax authorities.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversees the preparation and review of foreign, federal, state, and local tax returns, estimates, and extensions, including information returns; assists with the collation of data files and workpapers for the tax filings, and coordinates with outside service providers. Manages and prepares the quarterly and annual tax provision, closing, and reporting processes, including provision calculations, effective tax rate analysis, and coordination of foreign tax provision with outside service providers. Reviews the tax compliance calendar to ensure all filings are completed on a timely basis. Completes property tax and business license filings, including preparation and/or review as necessary. Supports the Vice President and Director of Tax with domestic and international tax planning initiatives, research, and documentation of analyses and tax positions. Assists in documenting and maintaining transfer pricing and cross-border transaction models in accordance with the Company’s policies and coordinates with external advisors. Analyzes tax exposures, including determining appropriate tax reserves; ensures all required documentation to support and disclose tax reserves is prepared and maintained. Collaborates with external auditors on all income tax accounting issues. Conducts tax research and assists with implementing new accounting pronouncements with tax accounting implications. Acts as an internal resource for various operating functions, determining tax requirements and strategies to ensure compliance with all tax laws. Addresses inquiries, notices, and tax audits conducted by various governmental agencies. Projects and monitors sources and uses of cash taxes, including estimated tax payments. Provides expertise and assistance in resolving indirect tax matters. Enhances tax account reconciliation policies and procedures for accuracy and efficiency. Reviews all existing tax accounting processes and recommends continuous improvement opportunities. Leads and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy. Performs other duties as they might be assigned.  Adherence to the hybrid work policy with consistent on-site attendance as required, ensuring presence during designated in-office days for team collaboration and engagement.  

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. Master’s degree in tax and/or Certified Public Accountant preferred6 year tax experience. Experience in manufacturing environment preferred

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

Working knowledge of U.S. Generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and ASC 740 theoryKnowledge of international taxationStrong computer skills including knowledge of tax reporting and accounting softwareStrong analytical skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAble to work with outside consultantsAble to work under tight deadlinesStrong desire to assume increased responsibilities in building/developing a tax function which provides maximum value to the organization.
