Tax Manager
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Tax Manager in Sumner, Washington. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring various tax-related operations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, and working closely with senior management. This position is crucial for maintaining our company's financial health and making sure we meet our legal obligations. Responsibilities: • Oversee the preparation of annual federal tax consolidation reports and K-1 tax estimates. • Review federal, state, and local tax returns to ensure compliance with applicable tax laws. • Spearhead our internal compliance team on local, state, and federal tax audits. • Supervise and provide guidance to staff in the completion of tax return documents to be provided to 3rd party CPA firms. • Conduct research and assessment on federal and state tax credits, exemptions, deductions, and present findings to leadership. • Advise senior management on potential changes to tax regulations and assess impacts of new and proposed federal, state, and local regulations. • Assist in determining the capitalization or expense of assets under IRS and US GAAP regulations, as requested. • Maintain LLC members GAAP and Tax capital account for selected entities. • Review monthly Tax and GAAP based financial statements, as requested. • Collaborate with the Controller to develop and implement new tax and accounting standards across the organization and its operating companies. • Participate in special projects involving process improvements, software upgrades, and supporting business growth. • Maintain effective communication with team members, coworkers, and management. • Ensure responsibilities are completed in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Salary and Benefits: The base salary range for this position is $135,000-$160,000. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required; CPA or master’s in taxation required. • 5+ years of comprehensive tax and accounting experience. • 5+ years of experience preparing/reviewing US tax returns including reviewing complex tax returns for partnerships and trusts • Understanding of GAAP vs Tax consolidations, equity method investments, variable interest entities assessment, and depreciation required. • Auditing skills are required to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting. • Compliance knowledge is necessary to ensure all tax practices align with regulations and laws. • Experience with Partnership Tax is needed for managing and advising on partnership tax matters. • Experience working with High-net-worth individuals and flow-through businesses is preferred • Expertise in Trust Tax Returns, Partnership Tax Returns, and Corporate Tax Return is required. • In-depth understanding of State Tax, Local Tax, and Federal Tax is essential.
